It was such a pleasure connecting with Danielle. She is incredibly knowledgeable about all the services her facility offers and took the time to share them with our team. We were all thoroughly impressed by the level of care the Menninger Clinic provides to its patients, as well as the thoughtful amenities they have in place to ensure a comfortable treatment experience. Menninger Clinic is truly a valuable resource to the community, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the great work they do and staying connected!

out of all the treatment centers and facilities i’ve gone to, menninger is for sure the best one. i was in the adolescent program almost a year ago. the nurses and techs check up on us very often. we still have time to ourselves in our rooms to journal, listen to music on our mp3s that are provided, or we can go out in the day room and talk to other patients. girl and guy hall is split in the adolescent unit (at least thats how it was when i was there). we do at 3-5 groups a day, which take 20 minutes to an hour each. we also get individual appointments depending on what we’re there for. this place may be expensive but its very worth it if you want comfort and help. the nurses and techs are there to talk and the place is really clean. rooms get cleaned everyday and the food is actually pretty good considering its at an inpatient hospital. there is a separate room for adults and adolescents to eat. overall, menninger was a great experience considering the circumstances and the best hospital i went to. the inpatient and outpatient were both very nice and all the staff is nice

My doctor was not available anymore because he was laid off supposedly. No one from the Clinic reached out to me beforehand to let me know that this person who I had been working with would no longer be able to provide care for me. This was a terrible shock, as I had developed a relationship with my doctor. My doctor was wonderful and I felt very cared for. Menninger Clinic should have done more to provide for those patients that were under that doctor's care.

If you were/are struggling with sexuality or sex related mental health issues DON’T go here.

If you want more than 2 hours (maybe) of ACTUAL mental health assistance DON’T go here.

The nurses (and food) were mostly wonderful and my therapist (the ONE time I got to see her in 2 weeks) was wonderful…

But the psychiatric staff are not there to help.

It was almost a year ago I went in. Optimistic, eager to treat EXTREME depression and get help that could make my life worth living, and I TRIED harder than I ever have in my life to be positive, adaptable and optimistic (not easy to do when depressed)

Instead of getting help i was talked down to and ignored by the psychiatric staff. Even after taking notes and asking EVERY DAY to either receive more care OR receive SOME kind of ADHD treatment, I was looked down on for my sexual history and my “outsider” status as the only patient there WITHOUT wealthy parents.
And since my issues weren’t substance-related they basically looked at me like I was a waste of their time.

Hours and HOURS of unoccupied “free time” for THOUSANDS of dollars with NOTHING on the weekends?
500 group sessions a week with MAYBE a single therapy session?

Save your money. You’ll be better off mentally and financially if you don’t trust this institution.

Worst experience of our lives .
My wife was there twice and both times they drop the ball in a number of things
Including discharge not making us aware that the after taking medications patient should be supervised for some time .
ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY .
They could not care less for the patient.
AND NO FOLLOW UP.
Save your money you are better off
This should be illegal.

A scam. Wasted a year of my life in inpatient and Pathfinder program. I wanted out but they manipulated me into staying to run my accounts dry. I had to fight to discontinue “treatment”.
In Texas medicine is big business and all about making money. Menninger most likely relocated to the state due to less government oversight and regulations. All they care about is the money.

I was questioned multiple times if I was abusing my medication as soon as I got there. Bridge program leader is the worst mental health practitioner I've ever met. Nurses busted into my room without knocking. Will ask you if you are dissociated while you have a panic attack. Dr. will get mad at you if they are unable to help you. Overall, it's not great, but it's probably better than most. Good food, bridge program is 6.5/10. Annie king is the bomb tho! Great person.

We were so impressed by the staff who run the AOP (Assisted Outpatient Program). The weekly sessions are intense and thorough. The staff were professional yet compassionate. Every person we came into contact with during our week there was so welcoming. From the dining hall to the front desk to the person manning the entrance gates, we were treated with respect and kindness, which just added to the general feeling that Menninger’s Clinic is a good place to receive help. We’ll always be grateful for the time (although short) spent there.
